Detailed Itinerary

Day01: Arrival at Lhasa & Acclimation
Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide and escorted to your hotel in Lhasa. From airport to Lhasa city, it only takes half an hour of driving along the Lhasa-airport highway. Driving along the Brahmaputra river, you will not only amazed by the spectacular plateau scenery. If you take the train to Lhasa, normally you will arrive in the late afternoon or evening, 20 minutes drive will take you to your hotel in Lhasa city. Check into hotel, have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude.

Day02 Lhasa sightseeing - Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor
In the morning, go to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, you will experience its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc. Tibet Museum is an important window to introduce the glorious culture of Tibet, as a free Museum in Lhasa, you should not miss it. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during Songtsen Gonpo's reign by princess Wencheng of Tang Dynasty, 647 A.D, and its famous Barkor Kora.

Day03: Lhasa Sightseeing - Drepung Monastery/Sera Monastery
Today, you will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera. Drepung monastery is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once home of 10000 monks and Ganden podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the government centre during the fifth dalai lama and later moved to the famous potala palace during the fifth dalai lama. After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist Scriptures debating held in the courtyard mostly around 6:00 - 7:30 in the afternoon.

Day04: Lhasa to Ganden Monastery to Basum Lake (370km)
Drive 370km to Basum Lake in Gongpo Region, the first site you will visit today is Ganden Monastery, which is about fifty kilometers east of Lhasa and is first and primary monastery of Gelug sect in Tibet. after lunch, we will drive eastwards to Basum Lake, the lake is a crescent surrounded by mountain ranges and lush trees, like an emerald embedded in a valley. Go eastward from Lhasa and across the Mila Pass (4865m), you'll enjoy seeing amazing changes in climate and vegetation.

Day05: Basomtso Lake- East Baiyi - Lulang Forest Sea - Milin (280km)
Drive 180km from Basum Lake to Bayi, the capital town of Nyingchi Prefecture. Then drive to visit Ancient Cypress Forests, the Holy Land in the local Tibetan mind and also you will have a chance to see Lulang Forest far away from Lulang Sightseeing Plat. The species of tree and vegetation are very rich here with a large number of birds resting and living within the Lulang forest. Then continue trip to Milin, where is 65km south of Baiyi, on the way, you will visit Lamaling monastery which is the biggest monasteries in Nyingchi.

Day06: Milin to Tsedang (360km)
Drive 360km to Tsedang from Milin, on the way, you will see the beautiful scenery of Tibetan Villages and harmony countryside views. You will visit Chongkang Village and Tashi Zong Palace. Chongkang Vaillage is the home of 13th Dalai Lama and Tashi Zong Palace is a combination of Tibetan style and Chinese Style constructions, and it is worth to pay a visit. The final destination for today is Tsedang, which is the capital of Shannan Prefecture.

Day07: Tsedang Sightseeing - Yambulakhang Palace, Trundruk Monastery
Tsedang is known as the capital of the ancient Yarlung Kingdom. Today, we drive 7kms to visit Yambulakhang Palace, the first building of Tibet which is built in 2nd century for Tibetan Kings. It sites on a summit of a small hill on the east bank of the Yarlung River. Then drive to see the burial tombs of Tibetan Kings. We also pay a visit to Trundruk Monastery in the afternoon.

Day08: Samye Monastery Day Tour
Take a ferry across Yarlungzongpo River and visit Samye Monastery. The Samye Monastery is the first temple to be built in Tibet and the first complete with the three Buddhist jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. With these unique features, this splendid temple has become an attraction for visitors from near and far.

Day09: Departure from Tsedang
Transfer to the airport (90km, 2 hrs) for your departure flight to next destination.
