Tour Highlights

This is an in-depth tour in the culturally rich minority regions of Southwest Sichuan and Yunnan province. Taking this tour, you will not only witness the colorful minority culture and their admirable lifestyle, but also be amazed by the incredible natural beauties and cultural heritages in the region, such as mountains, glaciers and alpine lakes.
Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Chengdu / Kangding (336km)
After breakfast, depart from Chengdu and Drive to Kangding via Ya'an.  You'll pass Erlang mountain-the first pass of the countless high mountains on the Sichuan-Tibet highway. You will arrive at Kangding-the capital city of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. After dinner, enjoy the hot spring at Erdaoqiao.

Day 2: Kangding / Mugecuo / Xinduqiao / Yajiang (182km)
In the morning visit Kangding Mugecuo Scenic Area, after lunch drive to Xindu Qiao. Cross over the Mt. Zheduo at an elevation of 4300m, visit the Xindu Qiao, which is known as the paradise for photographing, you will have plenty time to stop here to take photos. After another 75km drive, you will reach Yajiang County (2600m). Overnight at Yajiang. 

Day 3: Yajiang / Litang / Daocheng (220km)
Today drive from Yajiang to our trip destination Daocheng via Litang, in the morning pass two 4,300m high mountains-the Jianziwan & Kazila mountain. Lunch at Litang . With its 4,010m altitude, the county is  no doubt the highest city in the world. In addition to its beautiful scenery & spectacular local Tibetan customs, another tourist attraction is the Hose-racing Festival in every August. Therefore, if you are here at the very right time, you'll never miss the chance for the hose-racing & dressing show. Another 146km ride to Daocheng will be continued after the visit to a Tibetan monastery. Daocheng is a county that you will enjoy because of its rich soil & Tibetan culture, and a good place for recharging yourself before Yading. You may relax yourself by bathing at the hot spring & the Tibetan local dancing show. 

Day 4: Daocheng / Yading (110km)
Drive to Yading Nature Reserve through Daocheng - Riwa (Shangrila) village after breakfast, the countryside scenery en route is very charming and the road is perfect, it drives approximately 2 hours. After reach Yading, take a horse-riding to Chonggu Temple, see the scenery of Chonggu Temple and holy peak Xiannairi. From Chonggu Temple trekking up to Drolma-la tso ( Pearl Lake) or ride a horse about 15minutes. Pearl Lake is the best place to view the holy peak Xiannairi. Overnight at Yading Muwu Camping Tent(dorm bed),or Longmen Inn.

Note: Food at Yading Nature Reserve is package food, and accommodation will be dorm bed or guesthouses.

Day 5. Yading Nature Reserve Luorong Pasture / Daochen
See sunrise at Ghonggu Temple, then keep riding horse to Luorong Pasture. It is the best location to pilgrim the three saint peaks of Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Xialuoduojie. Afternoon ride horse back to Yading village and drive back to Daochen. Have the famous Rupuchaka hot springs and enjoy the local Tibetan dancing and singing performance. Overnight at Daochen.


Day 6: Daocheng / Xiangcheng / Benzilan, 271Km, 7hours
Departs at Daocheng early morning, pass Sangdui village to Xiangcheng along different plateau forest scenery and local tibetan villages. Overnight at Beizilan (dorm bed).


Day 7:  Benzilan / Deqin, 97Km, 4hours
Walk to see the famous Jinsha River bend, then start driving to Deqin by pass White horse mountains.  Feilaisi is several km away from Deqin, it is the best place to see holy Mt.Meili. Mt. Meili is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. 'Kang Karpo Peak' means the God of Snow Mountain in Tibetan, and is a holy land for worshiping. Pilgrims from Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan,and Gansu travel to the mountain at the beginning of each winter to worship. Thousands of devout pilgrims worship together and encircle the holy mountain, adding even more mystery and loftiness to the mountain. Overnight at Feilaisi or Deqin.


Day 8:  Deqin / Zhongdian, 184km, 6hours
Early morning get up to see the sunrise at Mt.Meili, then start driving to Zhongdian by passing White horse mountains and Benzilan again. Afternoon visit the Grand Songzhanlin Monastery, which is belong to Yellow school of Tibetan Buddhism and is regarded the little Potala Palace. Overnight at Zhongdian.


Day 9:  Zhongdian / Lijiang
After breakfast drive to Lijiang, the World-class Cultural Legacy by UNESCO for its historical remains of building and culture. En route have a chance to see the famous Tiger-leeping Gorges ( Only upper Gorge). The tour will be end once you check in at Lijiang.
